I’m Lukas, a commercial pilot and flight instructor from Austria. On this blog I will write about my life as a pilot, how I got to where I am, and how I can help you in case you want to become a pilot as well.
Some people have called my CV “non-linear”, and in fact my flying career has taken several turns you might not see too often. At a certain point it even looked like it would come to an unexpected and abrupt end. An important career step was becoming a flight instructor and I have enjoyed teaching on a full time basis for 6 years. I believe I am able to give you valuable advice on how to avoid the traps on your own path to becoming a pilot, be it flying for fun or for money (that also comes with lots of fun).
Apart from aviation, my other passions are cooking, sailing and traveling, and that’s why this blog is called “The Hungry Pilot”. Therefore, I will occasionally take the freedom to write about these topics too.
